The Interior Minister conveyed disappointment that pro-Palestinian protests went ahead on Thursday following the terror attack that took two lives outside a Jewish place of worship in Manchester.

The top security official also called on demonstrators to "step back" from intentions to organize protests in the coming days.

"I believe that proceeding in this fashion seems un-British, it seems misguided," she remarked regarding demonstrations planned for this weekend.

Demonstrators in central London protesting the Israeli navy intercepting a aid convoy carrying humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip clashed with police officers outside the Prime Minister's residence on Thursday night.

Substantial groups carrying flags of Palestine and banners could be spotted on Whitehall into the night.

London's Metropolitan Police stated that 40 people had been detained. A half-dozen of those detained were detained over attacks against law enforcement personnel.

"It's essential to draw a line between events unfolding in the Middle East and situations developing at home," the home secretary remarked on a morning news program on Friday morning.

"I would say to individuals who are intending to participate in a demonstration is to reconsider briefly for a short while, and consider if you had suffered the loss of a close relative to a terror attack in this nation," she emphasized.

There were "strong" measures to defend the right to protest, she stated, but they could be superseded on the advice of the police.

"I can act based from the police, if they were to advise me there was an inability to handle and to police the protests, then there are powers that are at my disposal," she elaborated.

Jewish community representatives express worries

Britain's Chief Rabbi stated that many people of the Jewish community wondered why marches in solidarity of Palestinian advocacy groups had been allowed to proceed.

The group was proscribed as a prohibited organization in July. At multiple demonstrations since then, numerous individuals have been arrested for demonstrating backing for the organization, which has obtained authorization to challenge the restriction.

"A portion of them contain blatant anti-Jewish sentiment, clear support for Hamas. Not all participants, however there is a significant amount of such content, which clearly poses dangerous to many within our community," the religious leader remarked.

"It's impossible to disconnect the words on our public spaces, the behavior of individuals in this manner, and what subsequently occurs, which was yesterday's terror incident."

Additionally, he urged the government "yet again", to "assert authority on these demonstrations, they are risky."
